Jaris Wommack

Jaris Wommack, a 2007 THS graduate, was a three year starter for the Tornadoes basketball team and a two years starter at wide receiver on the football team.  During the 2006 football season, Wommack led the team in receiving and was selected to the Central State Eight All-Conference Team.

On the Tornadoes Basketball Team, he was team MVP and leading scorer in both his junior and senior seasons and was selected both years to the Central State Eight All-Conference First Teams and the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All State Teams. His 597 points his junior season placed him 3rd All-Time and his 1431 career points placed him second All-Time behind only Taylorville legend Bill Ridley in career points.  

Jaris attended John Wood Community College in Quincy following graduation and was a two year starter for the Blazers scoring 686 points in 59 games.  After receiving his degree from John Wood, Wommack attended Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas and was a two year varsity starter, and was selected team captain; Heart of America Conference All-Conference First Team; lead the team in scoring, steals and assists, and was selected the school’s Male Athlete of the year.  At Baker University, Wommack scored 776 points giving him a college career total of 1462 points.
