Linda Prasun

Linda Prasun, a 1983 THS graduate, was a four year letter winner in basketball and won two letters in track. A starting guard on the Lady Tornadoes inaugural season in 1979, Prasun scored the very first basket in girls’ basketball history against the Mt Zion Lady Braves.  She went on to score 119 points in a short 14 game season and followed that with 390 points in 1980-81. A knee injury sidelined Prasun during the 1981-82 season, but she came back strong her senior year, leading the Tornadoes to and 18-3 season and scoring 472 points and a 22.8 average.   In her three seasons, Prasun scored 981 points placing her 10th all time and 6th in season average at 22.8 points a game her senior year. Her career 16.6 points per game place her 5th al time.  During her sophomore year, Prasun won the IHSA District 400 meter dash with a time of 60.0 seconds.  In the Area Best Track meet she set the school record in the 400 meters with a time of 59.27 seconds.
