Meredith Curtin

Meredith Curtin graduated from Taylorville High School in 2004. She was a three year letter winner on the cross country team and a four year starter and letter winner for the Lady Tornadoes Basketball team.

During her career on the cross country team, Meredith was selected to the Central State Eight All Conference team all three years she competed. She was also team MVP each year and set the Manners Park course record during her junior year, which allowed her to advance to the IHSA Sectional meet for the second year in a row.

During her career as a member of the Lady Tornadoes basketball team, Curtin was the team leader and established herself as a premier player not only in the in the Central State Eight Conference but also the state of Illinois. She became the Lady Tornadoes second all-time career scoring leader with 2201 points. She had single season records of 418 points (14.4 ppg ave) her freshman year, 584 points (18.8 ppg ave) her sophomore year; 670 points (19.6 ppg) her junior year and 529 points (17.1 ppg) her senior year.

She was selected to the Central State Eight All Conference team all four years, was team MVP each of her last three seasons. She was the Springfield Journal and Register Basketball Player of the Year in 2004, and was selected to the State Farm Holiday Tournament All Tournament first team in both 2001 and 2002. She capped her senior season by being selected to the Chicago Tribune, AP Class AA All-State Team.
