Kim Burton

Burton currently lives in Tucson, Arizona. Following graduation, Burton received a scholarship to play at Western Illinois University where coach Deke Pollard said he was one of the most physical and toughest players he recruited.

Kim Burton graduated from Taylorville High School in 1974 and earned varsity letters in football and baseball.

Kim Burton was one of the most dominating defensive players to ever play for the Taylorville Tornadoes. Undersized, but always focused on making contact to get to the ball carrier, Burton was instrumental in helping the 1973 Tornadoes to an 8-1 record and a share of the Mid-State Conference Championship. He was selected team captain and MVP in 1973. He earned All- State Honorable Mention and Special Mention as a guard and was selected to the Decatur Herald and Review All-Area First Team, and the All Mid-State Conference First Team in both 1972 and 1973.
