- REQUIRED WATER JUG (See at top and bottom of page) -
Band students must have a 1 Gallon water jug like the one pictured here. They are available at Walmart (they have a few), Amazon.com, Target and various sporting goods stores for around $10. They come in blue or red.
- REQUIRED SUMMER UNIFORM
Band Students must have SOLID BLACK shorts to wear with the provided band shirts as a"summer" marching band uniform. We will wear summer uniforms for the first few performances until the temperatures drop. These are be worn with closed toe "tennis shoes" or any color.
- PROGRAM PICTURES (in Uniform) on Wed, Aug 7 at the BHS stadium at 5:30pm (Student pick-up at 6:15 on that day)

Additional Marching Band Information
BHS Band Students receive band messages through the school approved text message service called "Remind. It is free. All BHS band members and parents
simply text: @brevard1 to this number: 81010
Band fees will be collected at the Band Association Parent Meeting during Band Camp.
The fees that the students pay are only a small percent of what it takes to pay for the
music, arrangements, additional instruction, instruments and repairs. The band fee
funds are used all year and are not just for marching band. We have been asking around
and most band fees are well over $500, The Band Association is challenged to come up
with the funding needed to cover the costs of the Band Program. Thank you for your
support and understanding.
Why is Marching Band Camp Required?
Please schedule summer plans accordingly because Band Camp is the time when participants learn marching methods, maneuvering, choreography and music for the upcoming football season. The dates indicated below are required in order to prepare for our Fall performance schedule. We will not teach camp with holes (people missing) in the drill, choreography and music.
Band members are required to stay for the entire game and typically finish around 9:30-10pm.
Please wait for your child outside the band room rather than coming in. It gets extremely crowded with band members so only students will be allowed in the band room after the game.
Students, we have a few rules for the stands:
- Absolutely no one in the band section other than band members.
- Playing during the game is a performance and your attention should be directed to what is going on on the field.
- You will have time to socialize with friends during half time. No food or drink in the stands until half time.
- Once halftime is finished all trash needs to be thrown away, and no food or drink through the remainder of the game. Water, of course, is permitted at all times.
- Make sure you have all of your music.
- Stay in your section for the entire game.
- Do not play anyone else’s instrument at any time.
And most importantly, have fun! We can be ready to play and represent ourselves positively while also having a great time.
