Course Description: A course designed to acquaint students with the language, theory, and processes of general automobile mechanics including applied trouble-shooting, students learn to repair fuel, electrical, cooling, brake, drive train, and suspension systems. Instruction is given in the adjustment and repair of individual components and systems such as radiators, transmission, and carburetors. Students who successfully complete this program sequence will be prepared to take and pass the respective ASE/NATEF exam and will be prepared for postsecondary education opportunities.

Course Description: A course designed to provide students the knowledge and skills to perform the upkeep of commercial/public buildings and grounds, students experience hands-on training in cleaning operations, building repairs, minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, air conditioning, building trades, and landscaping/grounds maintenance. Custodial services such as floor maintenance, rest room care, and carpet cleaning are emphasized in the course of study.

Course Description: A course designed to provide learning experiences in all phases of carpentry. Students may acquire skills in both interior and exterior construction and finishing along with basic plumbing and electrical wiring. Additionally, students will learn construction of wood products such as cabinets and shelving units.

Course Description: A course designed to teach students nursing care of patients of all ages. Student instruction focuses on the daily hygiene and medical need of patients. The course includes CPR training and certification. Upon successful completion of the program, students will sit for the State Board of Nursing License. Students must log a minimum number of classroom and clinical hours to be eligible for the state licensing exam.

Course Description: A course designed to teach students non-structural analysis, damage repair, welding through repair, masking, and refinishing auto body components and entire vehicles. Students will learn how to use spray guns and personal safety equipment while applying undercoats and topcoats, working with a variety of materials, and gaining career skills. Students who successfully complete this program sequence will be prepared to take and pass the respective ASE/NATEF exam and will be prepared for postsecondary education opportunities.

Beauty Salon Assistant
A course designed to teach students in a clinical lab setting. Students will learn practical and manipulative skills with an emphasis on safety and sanitation, shampooing and conditioning, retailing, inventory control, and receptionist work. Competency completions allow students a certificate for entry-level employment.

Students who successfully complete this program sequence will be prepared to take and pass the Virginia Board of Cosmetology licensing exam. Students must log at least 840 clinical.

Course Description: A course designed to focus on the art of brick, block, stone, and tile construction. Students practice in the manipulation processes and technical information needed to become a skilled mason. Students learn to use hand tools such as trowels, levels, and chisels and power tools such as concrete mixers to lay brick, concrete block, tile, and related materials.

Course Description:
The Mechatronics program is designed for the student who desires an introduction to advanced manufacturing. It combines content from basic engineering principles, mechanics, robotics, electrical, and computer related subjects. In class knowledge is balanced with practical, hands-on training combined with an in-depth study of major components and how they work internally. Upon completion of this program, the student will be qualified as an entry-level technician or may apply earned credits to further programs. Students who earn the Mechatronics Certification are then prepared to enter the industrial workforce as a high level manufacturing technician and work on state of the art equipment.

Course Description: Students learn how to work on Harley Davidson engines and drive trains in a professional environment, with a knowledgeable instructor, Mike Howington. Build upon the foundations of small engine and motorcycle/ATV. Learn the basics of engine maintenance and the system operations that are required for smooth operation.

Course Description: Students learn to safely maintain and repair small internal-combustion engines used on portable power equipment such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, rotary tillers, outboard engines, and other two and four cycle engines. Students diagnose and service manual starting systems, ignition systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.

Motorcycle/ATV Service Technology
Course Description: Designed to help prepare you to work on motorcycles. Because of the similarity of their engineering, this edition also covers the service of all terrain vehicles. It is written in general terms, and thus applicable to every make and model of ATV, scooters, and motorcycle. The text, illustrations, and hands-on education summarize the most important aspects relating to the operation, construction, design, testing, maintenance, and repair of these vehicle systems and components.

Course Description: In this introduction to service and repair of watercraft and marina operations, students learn marine trade skills in areas including shop and boating safety, inboard and outboard systems, carpentry, electricity, and vessel storage/handling. The course is based on the National Marine Trades Curriculum, developed by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC).

Course Description: A course designed to acquaint the student with oxyacetylene cutting and welding, arc welding, tungsten and metallic inert gas welding, along with safety and operation of auxiliary tools and equipment. Also included is blueprint reading, design, and fabrication.
