Plug laptop into wall outlet using provided or compatible power cord. EVERY DAY/EVERY NIGHT
Place Pointer over Battery icon bottom right > 10% or less plug-in immediately! Do Not Unplug.
Do Not Use on battery power if charge is less than 20%. Keep plugged in until properly charged.
Check charging light on side to make sure device is charging.
If laptop will not turn on, charge device for 15-30 minutes. Do Not Unplug.
If battery is severely depleted. Keep device plugged in for several hours.
Closing the lid/cover does not power off or shut down laptop
Tapping power button does not power off or shut down device
PREFERRED METHOD: Select Start > Power> Restart
IF LAPTOP IS NOT RESPONDING: Press & Hold power button > 15-20 seconds > Shuts Down Completely > Turn-On
Select Start > Settings> System > Storage > RED LINE BRING TO LIBRARY
Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates > Follow instructions on screen
Make sure device stays plugged in before and during downloading and installing. This could take minutes or hours.
Several checks and restarts may be required to complete the update process.

Logout of all Google accounts. Login only with your WISD Google. Remove/delete all other Google Accounts. CLICK ARROW FOR MORE
It takes at least three school days before new WHS students can access their Canvas account.
Only access Canvas through your WISD ClassLink account.
Do Not create or use a personal Google Account
Make sure you are using only your WISD Google account [username: firstname.lastname@stu.wisd.org password: wisdstudentID]
Log out/remove all Google accounts except your WISD district Google account.
Log Out of ClassLink and close Chrome by clicking on "X" at the top right corner of screen.
Go to Start , select the Power button, and then select Restart. TRY AGAIN TO ACCESS CANVAS
Make sure laptop is not in sleep/hibernation mode
First, quickly press the power button or close/open the laptop's lid
Then, tap on a key on the keyboard or move finger around tracking pad
Last, hold down the power button for 20 seconds to force a shutdown before restarting.
Make sure laptop is properly charged.
Plug laptop into wall outlet using provided or compatible power cord.
Check charging light on side to make sure device is charging. [TRY TURNING ON DEVICE]
If laptop still does not turn-on the battery may be severely depleted.
Charging must be continuous and without interruption - Do Not Unplug
After 15-30 minutes try turning the computer on.
Keep device plugged in for several hours.
Laptop may be in sleep or hibernation mode which takes a few seconds to a minute or more to wake.
Close lid wait a few seconds then open lid again.
Tap power button ( maybe located on side or center/right of keyboard)
If laptop screen does not wake, press and hold power button for 20 seconds.
Laptop may have no battery power and needs to be charged.

Plug laptop into wall outlet using provided or compatible power cord.
Check charging light on side to make sure device is charging.
Place Pointer over Battery icon bottom right check that percentage is increasing.
Try a different wall outlet and power cord.
Charging must be continuous and without interruption - Do Not Unplug
Do Not Use Device - After 15-30 minutes try turning the computer on.
If battery still is not charging it may be severely depleted.
Select Start > Power> Shutdown
Do Not Use Device - Keep device plugged in for several hours.
Make sure touchpad has not been turned-off
Students will need to have a touchscreen device or external mouse
Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Touchpad > On
Touchpad/Device May Need to be RESET
Make sure laptop is unplugged from all power cords, headphones and other devices.
Press and hold the power button for at least 15 to 20 seconds. Turn on the computer. TRY TRACKING PAD AGAIN
Device may need to be Restarted
Plug laptop into wall outlet using provided or compatible power cord.
Settings > Power > Restart
Do Not close laptop cover or unplug while device is restarting
You may need to repeat the above steps several times. TRY TRACKING PAD AGAIN
Make sure laptop does not need any updates
Plug laptop into wall outlet using provided or compatible power cord.
Use a touchscreen or an external mouse go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates
Make sure device stays plugged in during downloading and installing. This could take minutes or hours.
Several checks and restarts may be required to complete the update process.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Plug laptop into wall outlet using provided or compatible power cord.
Close laptop lid, wait a few seconds. Open lid TRY WIFI AGAIN
Select Start > Power> Restart TRY WIFI AGAIN
Place Pointer over WiFi icon bottom right > Make sure WISD_BYOT or WISD_TESTING > Restart if no WiFi icon.
Several checks and restarts may be required.
Keep clicking on the "X." in the top right corner of the login box. This will need to be done many, many times. The Impero login box will eventually go away.
