The Snowstorm Stumper Breakout

Snowballs, snowshoes, and snowmobiles all come out for the coldest time of the year. You have 45 minutes to solve this breakout which is all about the fabulous things centered around WINTER! Your mission is not to get stumped!

Winter is the coldest season of the year.

In the northern hemisphere, winter is from December to February. And in the southern hemisphere, winter is from June to August.

You can see your breath when it's below 45° F. A person breathes in oxygen, and when you exhale (breathe out) your breath turns to water vapor. The colder temperatures allow you to see this.

The Winter Olympic Games take place every four years. These sporting events take place on snow and ice.

The first Winter Olympics took place in Chamonix, France in 1924. There have been 24 Winter Games so far. The next Winter Olympics will take place in Italy in February 2026.
