A popular Guam scenic attraction: Two Lover's Point
AT ISTE 2017, I met Leah Beth Naholowaa, Project Director of the Guam Department of Education (GDOE) at my Advanced Robotics 3 hour workshop. She wanted me to come to Guam to train her elementary, middle and high school teachers in WeDo 2.0 Robotics, EV3 Robotics, and 3D printing. Robotics, I got! Not 3D Printing.

I spent my Christmas break experimenting with a new tool. I taught myself how to 3D print on the TCEA Mod-T printer. It certainly took me out of my comfort zone but productive failures led to learning. In January, I prepared and curated resources for the 3D printing website and part of the three hour training with Tinkercad.

The only thing I could not prepare for was printing on the 3D printers the GDOE had purchased. When I landed in Guam, I had a couple of days to learn how to operate the Sindoh 3D Wox Printer. I took screen shots and created the slide deck. Tasks covered:

Starting the Sindoh 3D Wox printer
Leveling the print bed
Loading the spool of filament
Loading the firmware on computer
Running the print test
Converting a .stl file to the Sindoh GCODE
