Listen to the story of Paula and the pandemic.
Task #1 PLANTING EXPERIENCE
Just like Paula, we are going to plant a seed in a special pot that can be placed in your learning space. As you attend your virtual class each day you can care for your plant and watch it grow. The growth of the plant will represent your hope for the future. It will grow each day.
You can plant an apple seed, tomato seed, pepper seed inside a yogurt cup, egg carton and use soil to cover the seed. Remember to water the seed daily just a bit.
Or
Place a bean inside a ziplock baggie. First fold up the paper towel so that it fits easily inside the plastic baggie. Get it wet and slip it into the baggie. You can use pinto beans and place them inside the baggie right on top of the paper towel. Any variety of dried beans should work (pinto, black, lentil, navy, etc).
Activity #1 Grade 2/3 Activity
“Hope” is something you feel when there is something you want to have happen, but you don’t know yet if it will. Sometimes thinking about that thing happening makes you feel happy or excited. You like thinking about it happening and how you will feel then. You also try to remember that it may not happen so you won’t be super disappointed if it doesn’t. But having hope helps you to feel happy and excited about tomorrow.
We all have Jesus in our hearts and he is the way, the truth, and the light. Just as the sun gives light freely to everyone in the world, Jesus gives us spiritual light. He fills our hearts with hope...hope for a better day. Jesus helps us and calms us.
