About Me

I am Atsuko Muroga, a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University's Center for Education Policy Research and a Data Fellow at the US Department of Education. I am also an affiliated Economist of the Center for Benefit-Cost Studies of Education (CBCSE) at the University of Pennsylvania.

I obtained my Ph.D. in Economics and Education from Columbia University.

My research interests lie at the intersection of microeconomics and child development. I am also passionate about applied quantitative research that provides insights regarding ways to support the well-being of children and families.

Prior to my doctoral program, I worked for the World Bank for about 6 years where I was involved in various research and investment projects related to education and youth development in Cambodia, Mongolia, Morocco, Iraq, Tunisia, and Vietnam.

I hold an M.A. in Economics and Education from Columbia University, an M.A. in Administrative and Policy Studies in Education from the University of Pittsburgh, and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Soka University of America.
