Robotics

Year 10 Elective

Course Outline

Students take a hands on approach to explore robotics over the course of the semester. We begin by programming using Arduino Robots and progress onto elementary programming to produce simple automated behaviours. The students will also program Lego Mindstorm and EZ JD Humanoid Robots as part of the course. The focus of the course is the annual arts show in which a suite of working robots and robotic machines are put on display for our guests to enjoy and interact with.

The semester's work is project based with students being required to complete specific tasks to build and program the following robots: Lego Mindstorm, Arduino & EZ JD Humanoid Robot. Students will then use their knowledge and skill to plan, document and develop their own robot using Lego bricks and programmable logic units. The major project is undertaken with the aid of design and coding plans.
