Education Tour to the MATTA Fair at MITEC Kuala Lumpur
On 6 September 2025, students from REVY3S1, REVY2S1, and DTMY2S1 embarked on an insightful Education Tour to the MATTA Fair at MITEC Kuala Lumpur.
This visit offered students valuable real-world exposure to the dynamic tourism industry, deepening their understanding in areas such as:
Sustainability in Tourism – exploring the principles of High Value, Low Impact Tourism and recognizing the vital role of responsible travel in preserving destinations for future generations. Marketing, Promotion & Sales – observing how tourism products and services are strategically marketed and sold to attract and retain target markets.
Industry Trends – gaining insights into the latest innovations, emerging destinations, and global travel patterns shaping the future of tourism.
Professional Engagement – interacting directly with tourism operators, building communication skills, and broadening industry knowledge.
The tour not only reinforced academic learning by linking classroom theory with real-world practice, but also inspired students to think critically about the future of tourism and their potential contributions as industry professionals.

Circle of Care Event Brings Hope and Support to Community
On 06 September 2025, The Circle of Care Event, held at Dewan Utama, TAR UMT Perak Branch, highlighted the spirit of giving and collaboration as students from the Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries (FCCI) successfully organized a meaningful programme that combined creativity, learning, and social responsibility.
After 11 weeks of preparation, a team of 15 students from the Diploma in Public Relations (Year 2, Semester 1) and the Bachelor in Communication Studies (Year 2, Semester 3 and Year 3, Semester 1) presented their project as part of their continuous assessment.
During the event, the advisors proudly shared that four orphanage homes received contributions, including cash proceeds, donation boxes filled with groceries, stationery sets for the children, and other sponsored merchandise. The recipient homes were:

In addition, part of the sponsorship was allocated to cover the programme expenses, while the balance will be channelled to the TAR UMT Student Fund Loan, benefitting students in need.
The success of the event was made possible through the generosity of various companies and individuals, as well as the support of TAR UMT staff and facilitators. Special appreciation was extended to the Leo’s Club for their role as group facilitators throughout the programme.
Speaking onA behalf of the organizing committee, the advisors commended the students’ dedication. “We sincerely hope our students have done their very best to make this event meaningful. We also humbly apologize for any shortcomings and hope everyone will take away a fun and memorable experience.”
The Circle of Care Event not only fulfilled academic objectives but also stood as a testament to the students’ ability to combine classroom learning with real-world impact, bringing joy and support to the community.

Mangrove Conservation Day at Tanjung Burong
On 09 September 2025, 37 passionate staff and students united at Tanjung Burong to plant 500 mangrove trees! Despite the challenges, the day was filled with teamwork, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

A meaningful collaboration between First Aid Unit Society and Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun on 10 September 2025, they have successfully organized the Blood Donation Campaign. A total of 28 donors, including students and staff, participated to support the blood bank at Block G, DSA Hall TAR UMT Perak Branch. The event not only contributed to a vital cause but also encouraged a culture of compassion within the campus community."

Educational Trip to Perlis by TAR UMT Event Management Students
On 11 September 2025, our Bachelor of Tourism Management (Hons) Event Management students, together with lecturers from the Department of Social Sciences and Hospitality (DSSH), TAR UMT Perak Branch, embarked on an educational trip to Perlis.

Tarcian Run
On 13 September 2025, the spirit of TARCian Run 2025 lit up the campus as 101 enthusiastic participants from Perak Branch joined the event.
Some ran with full energy, while others walked with friends and family, enjoying the scenic route along the SPE Highway. This year was extra special as everyone crossed the finishing line at the Skyfield of TAR UMT’s Arena — a truly refreshing way to kickstart the long weekend holiday!

S.M. San Min (SUWA) Hosts S2 English Day 2025 – A Fun and Educational Language Learning Celebration
S.M. San Min (SUWA) English Department successfully organized the S2 English Day 2025 on 22 September 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., offering students a fun-filled and enriching platform to enhance their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
The event commenced with a warm welcoming speech by Yong Kun Xiang (S2X), whose enthusiasm set the tone for an engaging and educational morning.
One of the highlights of this year’s celebration was the participation of 21 students, 2 lecturers, and 1 staff member from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT). They led a series of interactive and educational station games designed to strengthen students’ English proficiency, including:

Instructional Maze (Listening)
Riddle Hunt (Reading)
Caption This (Writing)
Additional grammar-focused challenges such as Phrasal Verb Jenga, Preposition Quest, Transition Tag, Adverb & Adjective Adventure, and Sentence Lab Dash kept students actively engaged throughout the event.
The programme was held under the guidance of Puan Siti Zulaikha binti Ismail, with strong support from Ms. Rachel and Ms. Tan Siew Siew as the liaison officer. Together, they ensured the smooth running of the event, which successfully combined learning with enjoyment.

The celebration concluded with a special luncheon prepared by the school to express gratitude to the TAR UMT delegation. Mr. William, the Vice Principal, personally accompanied the guests to the VIP room, where he shared the school’s aspirations and future plans for English language development.
In her closing remarks, Puan Siti Zulaikha expressed her delight at the event’s success and looked forward to an even more impactful S2 English Day in 2026.
The English Department extends heartfelt thanks to all students, staff, and guests whose efforts and contributions made S2 English Day 2025 a memorable celebration of language learning. Through such initiatives, S.M. San Min (SUWA) continues to inspire a lasting love for the English language among its students.

CSR Programme at SK Methodist ACS Ipoh
Giving back to the community!
On 24 September 2025, our team of 3 staff and 1 student carried out a CSR Programme at SK Methodist ACS Ipoh.
The day was filled with fun team-building games and core-strengthening activities, bringing joy and energy to 15 teachers and 230 students from Standard 4, 5, and 6.
Through these engaging activities, students had the chance to build leadership, problem-solving, and time management skills — valuable lessons that go beyond the classroom.
