1–3 August 2025, Ulu Kenas, Perak - Kursus Kenegaraan Malaysia Madani & Pemantapan Kepimpinan

Six students from TAR UMT Perak Branch took part in this prestigious leadership programme organized by Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia and Majlis Belia India Malaysia (MIYC).

The course focused on nurturing young leaders with a strong patriotic spirit and deep understanding of Rukun Negara. Participants engaged actively in nation-building and leadership activities, gaining valuable insights and hands-on experience to shape them into responsible, community-minded future leaders.

08–10 August 2025, Melaka - Tourism Students Explore Culture, Events & Conservation

Our Bachelor of Tourism Management (Event Management) students, accompanied by their lecturer, embarked on an enriching 3-day field trip to Melaka.

The journey began at Encore Melaka, where students toured behind the scenes of the iconic 360-degree rotating theatre guided by Mr Benjamin. They gained insights into stage design, guest flow and innovative audience engagement, discovering how meticulous planning shapes world-class events.

The trip also featured a CSR activity at the Reptile and Butterfly Sanctuary. Students learned about flora and fauna conservation while planting host plants for the Common Birdwing butterfly, contributing directly to its protection.

This trip offered a meaningful blend of industry knowledge and environmental responsibility, equipping students with both professional insights and a greater appreciation for sustainability.

9-10 August 2025, UTAR Kampar - Volleyball Competition

TAR UMT Perak recently took part in the Volleyball Competition hosted by UTAR Kampar at the Grand Kampar Sport Complex.

Our team fought hard and showed true commitment, teamwork and sportsmanship, even though the journey ended at the group stage.

The experience gained will fuel stronger performances ahead and we’re proud of the effort, spirit and determination our players brought to the court.

12 August 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Ice Bucket Challenge: Wellness Campaign 2025

As part of the Wellness Campaign 2025, the campus came alive with splashes, cheers and laughter during the Ice Bucket Challenge, held to raise awareness about mental health.

With nearly 90 students and staff taking part, the event was more than just buckets of cold fun as it carried a powerful message about breaking the stigma and standing together for mental well-being.

A day that was chilly, cheerful and deeply meaningful, proving that even small actions can spark big conversations on mental health.

12 August 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Mental Health Awareness Talk

As part of the Wellness Campaign 2025, students and staff attended an engaging talk by Dr Ahmad Syukri from PKD Kampar.

The session shed light on the importance of mental health and provided simple yet effective tips on managing stress, maintaining balance and seeking help when needed.

A big thank you to Dr Ahmad Syukri for delivering such an insightful session, reminding us all to prioritise our well-being and break the stigma surrounding mental health.

12 August 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Wellness Campaign 2025

What an exciting day it was at our Wellness Campaign 2025! The event brought together students and staff for a day filled with energy, fun and wellness.

From 15 interactive activity booths and free health screenings to the crowd-favourite animal encounters, the campaign truly had something for everyone.

A huge shoutout goes to our dedicated student organising committee, whose hard work and teamwork made the entire event a smooth and successful one.

12 August 2025, Kuala Lumpur - From Classroom to Trading Floor

Our RAF students had the invaluable opportunity to step into the heart of Malaysia’s financial market with an educational visit to Bursa Malaysia, the nation’s stock exchange.

The day began with the Sens-Ability Programme, where students explored the fundamentals of financial literacy and the importance of market awareness. They then gained deeper insights into the Derivatives Market, learning how derivatives support risk management and global trading.

The session continued with an introduction to Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), followed by a walkthrough of MyBursa, a digital platform offering tools and updates to help investors make smarter decisions.

To complete the experience, students toured the Knowledge Centre, discovering historical records and research resources that shed light on Malaysia’s capital market development.

From classroom theory to real-world practice, the visit equipped students with valuable knowledge in trading, investment, and market operations, inspiring them to pursue future careers in finance, economics and investment with greater confidence.

15–17 August 2025, UUM - Varsity Track & Field Sirkit 3

Congratulations to Sai Hwa Leng (TAR UMT Perak) for smashing her 5000m Personal Best, from 29:59 → 27:25! She clinched a Top 10 finish, proving that grit and hard work pay off.

A Year 1 Sem 3 Bachelor of Business (Hons) Accounting & Finance student, Hwa Leng continues to shine both in the classroom and on the track.

Keep chasing new limits, Hwa Leng, the best is yet to come!

15 August 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Coffee Talk: Liquid Logistics – What They Didn’t Teach You in Class

Big thanks to Mr. Lau Chen Ee from STEEM1960, Singapore, for an eye-opening Coffee Talk on Liquid Logistics: What They Didn’t Teach You in Class!

137 students from Diploma in Business Administration and Diploma in E-Marketing got a rare insider look into the world of oil, petroleum, chemicals and beverage transportation. 

From real-world logistics operations to career tips and even advice on tackling teamwork challenges, the session was practical, engaging and full of takeaways that went beyond the classroom.

These initiatives not only enhanced the skills and knowledge of the community but also developed students’ leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities. By combining learning, teamwork and creativity, TAR UMT students demonstrated that education truly goes far beyond the classroom, leaving a positive impact wherever they go. 

17 August 2025, Perak - TAR UMT FCCI Students Shine in Photography Competition: “Pilih Sayang, Bukan Abaikan”

Students from the Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries (FCCI) made their mark in the Student Photography Competition: “Pilih Sayang, Bukan Abaikan”, held under the Perak Pawsitive Initiative (Daerah Kinta).

The competition challenged participants to tell powerful stories about compassion and responsibility towards stray animals through the lens of photography. Guided by the theme “Pilih Sayang, Bukan Abaikan”, students were inspired to create visuals that urged the public to choose love and care instead of neglect.

From a strong pool of entries across Perak, two FCCI students from TAR UMT Perak Branch rose to the occasion, securing spots among the Top 10 finalists. Their achievement not only showcased their creativity and technical skills but also reflected their strong advocacy for animal welfare.

This recognition underscores TAR UMT students’ ability to use creative expression as a force for positive change, bringing attention to meaningful social causes beyond the classroom.

23–24 August 2025, Ipoh - Varsity Swimming Championship 2025 (Circuit 2)

Shoutout to our TAR UMT Perak swimmers for making waves at the Varsity Swimming Championship 2025 (Circuit 2) at Pusat Akuatik Tuanku Zara, Ipoh.

Law Li Hui Eddie led the team with 4th place (Men’s 50m Breaststroke, 31.16s) and 6th place (Men’s 50m Freestyle, 26.94s).

Teh Yi Hong – 10th place in Men’s 50m Freestyle (28.59s) and 16th place in Men’s 50m Breaststroke (39.19s).

Lim Jaywin – 15th place in Men’s 50m Freestyle (32.45s) and 14th place in Men’s 50m Butterfly (37.05s).

Leonard Wong Zhen Yuan – 18th place in Men’s 50m Freestyle (37.10s).

Neah Wei Shen – 19th place in Men’s 50m Freestyle (41.72s).

Lee Jing Wei – 10th place in Women’s 50m Freestyle (55.30s).

Chew En Sheng – 19th place in Men’s 50m Breaststroke (47.26s).

The championship provided TAR UMT Perak swimmers with valuable competitive exposure, with Eddie’s strong results marking the highlight. More importantly, the event fostered sporting spirit, teamwork and camaraderie among student-athletes from across Malaysia.

28 August 2025, TAR UMT Perak - CV & Interview Preparation Talk

Students from DSSH and DACB got a head start on their career journey through an engaging CV and Interview Preparation Talk by Ms. Hazel Thompson, Talent Development Consultant from Bangi Resort Hotel, Selangor.

With over 100 eager participants, the session buzzed with practical advice on crafting standout CVs, mastering interview skills and making lasting first impressions.

Packed with insider tips and real-world insights, the talk inspired students to polish their professional image and step boldly into the world of work.

On 28th August 2025, from eerie legends to global thrills, the Diploma in Event Management students turned the DSA Hall into a hauntingly spectacular world of mystery with Echoes of Fears: A Global Ghost Gala, held on 28 August 2025 from 5.00pm to 10.00pm.

Guests were transported through the chilling folklore of Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and China, brought to life with themed booths, cultural performances, a spooky haunted house and crowd-favourite activities like Find the Money Game.

The night reached its peak with a Lucky Draw that kept everyone on edge, featuring exciting cash prizes and even a gold bar. Guests also indulged in a delicious dinner spread prepared by the student team, earning rave reviews for both the food and the festive atmosphere.

The event was a perfect mix of learning, creativity and pure entertainment, proving the students’ talent, teamwork and event flair. Echoes of Fears wasn’t just a themed event. It was a celebration of imagination, culture and hard work that left everyone spellbound. A truly proud moment for TAR UMT Perak.
