15 August 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Coffee Talk: Liquid Logistics – What They Didn’t Teach You in Class
Big thanks to Mr. Lau Chen Ee from STEEM1960, Singapore, for an eye-opening Coffee Talk on Liquid Logistics: What They Didn’t Teach You in Class!
137 students from Diploma in Business Administration and Diploma in E-Marketing got a rare insider look into the world of oil, petroleum, chemicals and beverage transportation.
From real-world logistics operations to career tips and even advice on tackling teamwork challenges, the session was practical, engaging and full of takeaways that went beyond the classroom.

These initiatives not only enhanced the skills and knowledge of the community but also developed students’ leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities. By combining learning, teamwork and creativity, TAR UMT students demonstrated that education truly goes far beyond the classroom, leaving a positive impact wherever they go.
17 August 2025, Perak - TAR UMT FCCI Students Shine in Photography Competition: “Pilih Sayang, Bukan Abaikan”
Students from the Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries (FCCI) made their mark in the Student Photography Competition: “Pilih Sayang, Bukan Abaikan”, held under the Perak Pawsitive Initiative (Daerah Kinta).
The competition challenged participants to tell powerful stories about compassion and responsibility towards stray animals through the lens of photography. Guided by the theme “Pilih Sayang, Bukan Abaikan”, students were inspired to create visuals that urged the public to choose love and care instead of neglect.
From a strong pool of entries across Perak, two FCCI students from TAR UMT Perak Branch rose to the occasion, securing spots among the Top 10 finalists. Their achievement not only showcased their creativity and technical skills but also reflected their strong advocacy for animal welfare.
This recognition underscores TAR UMT students’ ability to use creative expression as a force for positive change, bringing attention to meaningful social causes beyond the classroom.
28 August 2025, TAR UMT Perak - CV & Interview Preparation Talk
Students from DSSH and DACB got a head start on their career journey through an engaging CV and Interview Preparation Talk by Ms. Hazel Thompson, Talent Development Consultant from Bangi Resort Hotel, Selangor.
With over 100 eager participants, the session buzzed with practical advice on crafting standout CVs, mastering interview skills and making lasting first impressions.
Packed with insider tips and real-world insights, the talk inspired students to polish their professional image and step boldly into the world of work.
On 28th August 2025, from eerie legends to global thrills, the Diploma in Event Management students turned the DSA Hall into a hauntingly spectacular world of mystery with Echoes of Fears: A Global Ghost Gala, held on 28 August 2025 from 5.00pm to 10.00pm.
Guests were transported through the chilling folklore of Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and China, brought to life with themed booths, cultural performances, a spooky haunted house and crowd-favourite activities like Find the Money Game.
The night reached its peak with a Lucky Draw that kept everyone on edge, featuring exciting cash prizes and even a gold bar. Guests also indulged in a delicious dinner spread prepared by the student team, earning rave reviews for both the food and the festive atmosphere.
The event was a perfect mix of learning, creativity and pure entertainment, proving the students’ talent, teamwork and event flair. Echoes of Fears wasn’t just a themed event. It was a celebration of imagination, culture and hard work that left everyone spellbound. A truly proud moment for TAR UMT Perak.

The Diploma in Event Management students transformed DSA Hall into a world of mystery and thrills with Echoes of Fears: A Global Ghost Gala, held on 28 August 2025 from 5.00pm to 10.00pm.
Guests explored haunting folklore from Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and China through themed booths, cultural performances, a spooky haunted house and fun games like Find the Money. The excitement hit new heights with a Lucky Draw featuring cash prizes and even a gold bar.
Attendees also enjoyed a delicious dinner and a lively atmosphere that showcased the students’ creativity, teamwork and event flair.

29–31 August 2025, Penang - From Classroom to Georgetown: Discovering Tourism in Action
Bachelor of Tourism Management (Honours) Event Management students take their learning to the streets of Penang through the themed trip “From Classroom to Georgetown: Discovering Tourism in Action.”
Over three days and two nights, students explored Wonderfood Museum, Penang Hill, Rozana’s Batik Workshop, Tech Dome, Glass Museum, Gurney Bay and Hin Bus Depot Art Market. Each stop offered hands-on exposure to cultural tourism, heritage sites and creative attractions, while sharpening skills in customer service, teamwork and destination management.
The trip was more than sightseeing. It was real-world tourism training in action, equipping students with practical experience to complement their academic knowledge and preparing them for future careers in the dynamic tourism industry.
