The iSpark Idea & Prototype Competition, held at TAR UMT on October 2, 2023, witnessed some of the most innovative ideas and projects presented by five finalists. One student from FOCS made his mark by winning the 2nd Prize and a consolation prize, showcasing his exceptional skills and out-of-the-box thinking. The award-winning final year project (FYP) titled "Pentap: A Novel Rhythm Game with Innovative Pen-based Input and Audio Recognition," designed and presented by Darren Chan Yan Zhi, a student from the Bachelor of Computer Science in Interactive Software Technology (RST), received immense appreciation from the judges and the audience. With a cash prize of RM 2500 and a certificate, Darren was recognized for his remarkable achievement in the competition.
The competition was judged by a panel of experts, including the CEO of Baker Next Door, Mr. Carlos Chow, General Manager of Midah Group, Mr. David The, Director at Baker Next Door, Ms. Ong Ai Leng, and Director of Brackish Aquaculture Sdn Bhd, Datin Sophia Lim.
