Quarter 3 is well underway!  Below is a snapshot of what Tapestry 7th graders are working on in their classes.

ELA: Students will be writing an informative essay based on medical and social epidemics. Independent Reading One Pager #4 is due on March 8th.

Humanities: Students will be looking at how America built a government after the American Revolution. We will also be analyzing the debates around the creation of the Constitution and how the Constitution has shaped modern America.

Math: Students will be starting Unit 5 on Scaling and Percents. Scaling is an extension of our work with proportions. Students will be calculating actual measurements, such as length and area, based on a given key. Students can expect a short test during the week of March 4th. Then, we will build on students' knowledge of percents from elementary school. Students will be: (1) converting between various forms of numbers (fractions, decimals, and percents), (2) finding the part, whole, or percent in a word problem, and (3) calculating percent of, percent increase, and percent decrease (tax, tip, discounts).

Science: Students are learning about phase changes.
