Ready to get started teaching digital citizenship? This 1 hour interactive online training will introduce everything you need to teach digital citizenship.

The course requires watching videos and interactively responding to questions built within the platform.
There is no final test involved, just a reflection survey to complete.

Protecting Student Privacy
This 1-hour interactive online course for educators will introduce the topic of student online privacy and offer concrete best practices for managing the risks to students.
⏰ First Steps
This training will include specific tools and methods for assessing the privacy and security of products commonly used in the classroom, and it will support teachers in mitigating the risk of student data being compromised. Make sure to complete the survey at the end of the course to receive your training completion confirmation.

Make sure to work your way through each section of the course. Watch any embedded videos and type to answer all questions.
Carefully read the scenarios at the end of the course to pass the quiz.

Common Sense Educator
A 4-6 hour training course which aims to build your confidence teaching digital citizenship and integrating technology into your classroom, school, or district.
Anyone who is an educator -- whether a classroom teacher, administrator, tech coach, librarian, homeschool teacher, preservice teacher, parent coordinator, or community partner-- can become a Common Sense Educator.

Choose two professional learning opportunities that level up your teaching practice.
Completed online Common Sense Education Digital Citizenship Curriculum training.
Completed Common Sense Education Student Data Privacy mini-course.
Attended a Common Sense webinar.
Attended a second Common Sense webinar.
Attended/viewed two Distance Learning conversations. Two Distance Learning conversations count as one LEARN activity.
Attended/viewed an additional two Distance Learning conversations. Two Distance Learning conversations count as one LEARN activity.
Attended an in-person or virtual professional development session (by Common Sense staff, a Common Sense Ambassador, or a school project lead). This counts as two LEARN activities.

We hope to learn more from you about your experience earning recognition as a Common Sense Educator. In the application, you will be asked to provide some details on how you feel the process of becoming a Common Sense Educator impacted you and your professional growth.
Earn a badge that publicly affirms your commitment to helping students think critically and use technology responsibly to learn, create, and participate.
Completing these prerequisites should take approximately four to six hours, while the actual application will take an additional five minutes.
Once your application is approved, you will be sent a digital badge that you can share proudly. Earning your badge is a symbol of your dedication to helping kids thrive in the digital age
