Texas A&M Mathematics Graduate Student Organization
About MGSO
MGSO exists to encourage communication among students and to contribute to a rich social life in the department through cultural and scientific dialogue. We would like to provide an environment where students in the mathematics department can practice their presentation skills and observe the techniques of others. It is our goal to be a source of support and information for all graduate students.
The main activity of the MGSO is the Graduate Student Seminar. This seminar is for grad students, (largely) by grad students: Volunteer to give a talk!

Title: Finite Time Singularity Formation for 3D (in)compressible Euler Equations
Abstract: Finite-time singularity formation in PDEs explains many physical phenomena. I will discuss two singularity formation results for the 3-dimensional Euler equations, one for the incompressible model (Beale--Kato--Majda, 1984) and one for the compressible model (Sideris 1985).
