Beyond Borders:
Community Art and Artifacts of Migration
Beyond Borders: Community Art and Artifacts of Migration seeks to highlight the challenges facing migrants who aim to cross the U.S./Mexico border without detection. As you navigate the exhibit space in a clockwise order, you will encounter some of the dangers facing migrants in South Texas.
From textual data, to replica artifacts, this exhibition explores evidence of how an international border has a ripple effect far beyond its physical boundary. You will also encounter artistic interpretations of the migrant experience at the U.S./Mexico border and beyond, shared by College Station-Bryan community members.
Though impossible to capture every migration experience, this exhibition explores common migration issues documented in South Texas and seeks to render visible the struggle often endured by migrants as they make their way north.
