Transforming Large-Scale Data Centers into Grid-Friendly Loads
Dynamic Modeling, Disturbance Ride-Through, and Power Smoothing
The Consortium on AI and Large Flexible Load (CALL) is a partnership between a team of researchers at Texas A&M University and industry collaborators. CALL serves as a multidisciplinary platform connecting academia and industry to advance knowledge and development at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), electric power systems, and large loads, particularly data centers.
Our mission is to accelerate research, innovation, and practical solutions that enable intelligent, flexible, and sustainable integration of these emerging large loads into the power grid.
Register here for our upcoming workshop RSVP for a deep-dive tutorial on dynamic modeling, disturbance ride-through, power smoothing, and grid integration of large data center loads, as well as a panel discussion with industry experts.
Date

Room: 232, Wisenbaker Engineering Building, TAMU, 188 Bizzell St, College Station, TX, 77801
Power systems and AI researchers; utility and ISO/RTO professionals; transmission planners and operators; data center and other large-load engineers; equipment manufacturers and technology vendors; consultants; and industry partners interested in the dynamic modeling, model validation, disturbance ride-through, and grid integration of large data center loads.
Explore how to make large loads—especially AI data centers—more grid-friendly through technical talks, hands-on tutorials, real-world case studies, and interactive panel discussions. Topics include dynamic electromagnetic transient (EMT) modeling (TAMU-ERCOT Data Center EMT Models), low-voltage ride-through, power smoothing, and practical grid integration and operational challenges for data center loads. Tour our research labs, exchange ideas with experts from academia and industry, and connect with potential collaborators. See the agenda for details.
