SERVICE ACADEMIES
The U.S. Military Academies offer free undergraduate education and training in exchange for service in the armed forces after graduation and include:
U.S. Military Academy (West Point)
U.S. Military Naval Academy
U.S. Military Air Force Academy
U.S. Military Coast Guard Academy
U.S. Military Merchant Marine Academy
Admissions Criteria include:
High School academic performance
Standardized test scores (SAT or ACT)
Athletics and extracurricular activities
Leadership experience and community involvement
Letter of Recommendation (except for the Coast Guard Academy)
The Reserve Office Training Corps (ROTC)
The ROTC is a college program offered at more than 1,700 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U.S. Military.
