1) What is your favorite line in literature ever?
"Time held me green and dying / Though I sang in my chains like the sea." --Dylan Thomas, "Fern Hill" This line has meant a lot to me since I first read it in high school. It reminds me that life is short, but there's still so much you can do with it.
2) What was your favorite thing about Talawanda when you were a student?
I guess I'd have to say that my favorite thing was when I started dating my future husband while we were in the same American History class. He sat behind me and was a super nice guy. The rest is. . . history! ;)
3) On average, how many books would you guess you read every year?
This is a tough one. Not counting books I re-read for school, I'd estimate that I read 7-10 books per year. This sounds like a lot, but I really don't consider myself a fast reader.
4) Do you have a cute story to tell us about your experience at Talawanda?
A few years ago, I was chatting with a student when I realized I'd had her dad in class many years before. We were both expressing our surprise, when several other students started chiming in that I'd taught their parents, too. I guess I didn't realize how long I'd been around! I always get a good chuckle when I remember that conversation!
5) If you weren't a teacher, what would you do?
I honestly think I was made to be a teacher, but if I could fantasize about any other career it would be some kind of public performer--like an actor or singer.
