Hello from second grade.
.It's hard to believe we are ending the school year with remote learning....I miss the class so very much. I hope you have enjoyed / are enjoying the work I have been sending home. I am sad there will not be an opportunity for good bye hugs......I will come to Taft to visit next year... Good Luck in Third Grade!. Hello from second grade.
I hope your child is being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn! - I think it's even more important now that we are Remote Learning....they need to continue to be a good student!
Reading
For the last round of Remote Learning we are not working out of the reading text book. Feel free to read any of the remaining stories for fun!! I have sent home materials for Alexander and the Horrible No Good Day, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, a Poetry Unit, Idioms, and Novel Study Work (Amelia Bedelia, Junie B. Jones, and Magic Tree House). All the books I have sent home this round are your to keep - Enjoy! Reading
Math
Go Math! We are finished with the Math Series. I have sent home review packets for 8 of the skills we have learned this yearMath
Science/Social Studies
We have learned about stages of matter in science. I made the lollipops at home that we were to make in class. Look on this site for pictures and hopefully videos. Enjoy the lollipops that were sent home in the last pick-up. Science/Social Studies magazines were sent home as well. If you are doing any gardening this summer - try to let your child observe/participate.Science/Social Studies

The cursive book is yours - use it this summer to practice your skills. I'm sure you are doing your best to finish.Handwriting
