The Cove features seven acres of maintained forest land with ample walking paths, large manicured lawns, and easy walking access to the 1/8 mile of private community tidelands. Tabook Cove has been owned by the Schroeder Family since 1958.

With Bainbridge Island, gateway to Seattle, just 37 miles to the east, Port Angeles, the heart of the Olympic Peninsula only 55 miles to the west, and Port Townsend 32 miles north Tabook Cove is in the center of it all. The Cove is great place for relaxing on the beach, taking in the scenery, and enjoying nature. The Cove is surrounded by several eagle nests and home to many other spices of birds. DaBob Bay's sea life features everything from the occasional grey or orca whale to seals, salmon, and a host of different varieties of shellfish.

Meaning that often Trident Submarines, from Naval Base Bangor, can often be seen practicing maneuvers in the waters off shore. During Naval exercises the bay is closed to non-military watercraft.
