Engineering Capstone Projects
Every year, our Engineering students culminate the school year by creating working prototypes of inventions that they design. Students learn a tremendous amount about the engineering design process, from initial background research, to empathizing with a user's needs, to designing, building, wiring, and programming a prototype. These prototypes, along with the projects' problem statements, market research, and methodology are submitted for the CIJE Innovation Day Fair and entered to compete in one of several categories.
Unfortunately, this year's unique circumstances prevented us from doing this in the usual way. Without access to the TABC Makerspace, students were not able to build their prototypes.
Instead, our students took their creativity, ingenuity, and innovation to a new format. Our TABC Engineering students created websites to share the invention ideas that they had come up with back when we were meeting in school in person. They crafted elevator pitches, used online tools to build virtual circuit prototypes, and conducted market research. The result is an array of incredible projects that we are very proud to showcase on this website.
Please peruse the categories and view any websites that sound interesting to you, and enjoy!
