Teamwork! 9/25

Today in 6th grade we did the Marshmallow Team Building Project. Students are given a bag of mini marshmallows, toothpicks, and 3 larger marshmallows. Once they are given their supplies they have 25 minutes to create the tallest standing tower that they can. As a team they must decide who is building, a plan, a design, and must focus on keeping a positive team atmosphere. It was great to see the different strategies and watch the structures come together. It was messy but we had a great experience overall! We had a great discussion about team work at the end and decided that communication and respect is the key to having a successful team.

Teamwork Chain! 9/28

To end teamwork week we made a classroom teamwork chain. Each student wrote their name and 3 important parts of a successful team and we made them into a chain. I explained to them that each one of them brings something to our team and to never forget we are there for each other.

Narratives! 10/1

We have been steadily working on creating the perfect personal narratives! Over the next week students will submit a typed, perfected, and next level personal narrative! I am so excited to see what they can produce!
