I'm a college professor with more than 25 years of experience teaching, advising, and mentoring students.

Over the course of my career, I've spent thousands of hours working directly with students and observing what helps them succeed, and what causes capable, motivated students to struggle.

What I Don't Do

To avoid confusion, I am not:

• A replacement for your high school guidance counselor

• An advocate who contacts professors or administrators on your behalf

• A campus advisor who helps register for classes or monitor degree requirements

Those responsibilities belong to your school or institution.

What I Do

I serve as an independent college consultant, providing objective guidance that is separate from any school or university.

I help students:

Phase 1: SAT Coaching & Preparation

The Critical Admissions Hurdle

Many colleges that adopted test-optional admissions policies during the pandemic have returned to requiring SAT scores. Even at institutions that remain test-optional, strong scores can play an important role in the admissions process.

When applicants have similar academic records, SAT performance can become a deciding factor.

As a professor with more than 25 years of experience and expertise in both quantitative reasoning and writing, I provide personalized, one-on-one SAT coaching tailored to each student's learning style and goals.

Best for: Students during or after sophomore and junior year, before college visits begin.

This phase helps students identify colleges that genuinely fit their goals, interests, and learning styles.

Best for: Students who have already selected a college, typically during the summer before freshman year.

Many students struggle in college not because they lack intelligence or motivation, but because they haven't developed the practical skills necessary for success.

In my experience, these skills are rarely taught thoroughly in high school, even to top-performing students.
