The mission of Sylvania Schools' Gifted Program is to ensure the growth and achievement of gifted students through a comprehensive system of support, specialized programming, and dedicated advocacy. We are committed to recognizing and nurturing their exceptional abilities, fostering positive self-esteem, and promoting high-level thinking and creativity. Our program strives to provide testing and identification services, educational resources for parents and teachers in the realm of gifted education differentiation, and opportunities for enrichment and advancement. By addressing the unique cognitive, social, and emotional needs of our gifted learners, we empower them to thrive as lifelong learners, creative thinkers, and contributors to our ever-changing global society
Program Vision
Sylvania Schools' Gifted Program envisions a future where every gifted student excels in their area(s) of strength, equipped with the skills and knowledge to accomplish challenging post-secondary goals, while also becoming innovative, creative, and socially responsible citizens who thrive in an ever-changing world.
Program Goals
Our goal is to empower gifted students to:
Develop higher-level thinking and problem-solving skills.
Cultivate creative thinking and the ability to solve real-world problems.
Progress at a rate and pace appropriate to their abilities and learning styles.
Enhance effective communication skills.
Create unique and meaningful products that synthesize major concepts.
