In the Hitomi Cup, students demonstrate English public speaking skills through in-depth exploration of a topic, delivering speeches of 5 minutes or less. Each year, we receive applications from students from various universities. After a rigorous selection process, approximately 15 applicants advance to the finals, which are impartially judged by a panel of professors from outside of Showa Women's University. With no required speech theme, applicants have maximum scope to apply logical thought, insight, and creativity to a topic of their choice. The quality of speeches is consistently high, with varied and engaging subjects of global significance, such as society, culture, education, and politics.

5分以内のスピーチを通して、グローバルに活躍できる英語力およびテーマを掘り下げて考察する論理的思考を身につけることを目的に開催しています。毎年、日本各地から多くの応募があり、厳正な選考を通過した約15名が本選に進みます。本線では昭和女子大学以外の教授陣が公平な審査を行います。スピーチのテーマは自由で、論理的思考力や洞察力、創造力を最大限に発揮できます。社会、文化、教育、政治など、世界的に意義のある多様で魅力的なテーマが取り上げられ、スピーチの質も非常に高いものとなっています。
