About Me

A Note to Families

I look forward to working together to support your child this year in 6th grade ELA! It is my goal to help your child in the following areas: 

• develop, grow, or maintain a love of reading/writing

• expand reading topics and genres

• enhance reading/writing skills

• learn organizational skills and habits

• build CONFIDENCE in their abilities

• build or strengthen a love of learning

Please do not hesitate to contact me at any point throughout the year with questions, feedback, concerns, or compliments (I mean who doesn't love a good pat on the back?!)

Classroom Management Plan

One Rule: If your choice interferes with learning, hurts someone, or prevents you from being your best self, then there is a better choice to make. 

Positive Reinforcement: Candy Wars between class periods (compete for points for positive choices), homework passes, classroom privileges, and the schoolwide Renaissance program 

Consequences (aligned with school discipline policy): Verbal or signed reminder, one on one discussion, logical consequences, parent phone call/email, lunch detention, main office referral, and/or guidance referral.
