Welcome to 5th Grade! My name is Chris Lewis, and I am excited to be working with your children this year in the Swedesboro-Woolwich School District.
About Me & My Family My wife, Kim, and I live right here in Woolwich Township with our two dogs, Gunner and Belle. We have two sons, Zach (24) and Justin (19).
Education & Experience I hold a degree in Elementary Education from New Jersey City University and a Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification from Rowan University. I have been teaching since 2000 in both public and private schools, with extensive experience in math and science across grades 5–8.
After moving to the area in 2013, I worked as a long-term substitute—including teaching 5th-grade inclusion/pullout at the Harker School—before joining Swedesboro-Woolwich full-time in 2015 as an inclusion teacher.
Outside the Classroom When I’m not in school, I umpire softball. I am a graduate of the Wendelstadt Professional Baseball Umpire School and subbed in the Can-Am Independent Baseball League. Over the years, I've had the honor of being selected for high-level events, including the Little League Softball Eastern Regional (2022 & 2025 Crew Chief), the 2024 Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, NC, and the 2025 Senior League Softball World Series in Lower Sussex, DE.
I strongly believe in maintaining an open line of communication between home and school. Please feel free to reach out anytime with any questions or concerns!
