Googopoly

What is Googopoly?

What is the purpose of Googopoly?

The purpose of Googopoly is to have SWISD Administrators and Teachers earn Google Certified Educator Badges and use what is learned to improve instruction practices and student learning to develop 21st Century graduates. Googopoly is designed to be individualized and flexible. Participants will receive an official SWISD Googopoly digital game board. The game board is used to chart a player's progress. Other than the 4 corners, players can choose ANY square on the board to start. Players move from square to square in any order. Tokens (Houses and hotels) can be earned and added to the squares based on the desires and needs of the player. As players earn tokens, they are working towards a bigger goal, the SWISD TECHspert Stamp. The SWISD Googopoly game board is a way for players to showcase and track what they have mastered and what what Google App they are currently working on.

Strategy

Players begin by selecting a "Property" on the Googopoly Game Board. Each Google App Property has 1-3 tokens available. As players learn how to use the app and demonstrate mastery skills, they earn tokens.

Players can work through each level of a property or they can work on 1 level on multiple properties. Players choice.

Properties are color-coded (by Google App). A player that earns all the tokens in a color will earn an "SWISD Techspert Stamp" for that Google app.

Each token has a point value.

  • When players earn 30 points, they qualify to take the Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam.*
  • When players earn 80 points, they qualify to take the Google Certified Educator Level 2 exam.*
