The final project of the East Oakridge Strategy is the largest of the three PODs.
Values at risk: Community off of the 58/Salt Creek, Wolf Mountain comms site, railroad, proximity to Army Corps reservoir and dam, HWY 58 corridor.
Highest burn likelihood. Should be number one priority from fuels and fire management perspective.
Since this land hasn’t been treated in a long time it would make the most impact; road system/access in the worst shape and would benefit the most for fire suppression access.
No existing fuel treatments that would be effective in aiding fire suppression.
Hardest POD to fight fire in. Roads are rough and overgrown.
Waiting to treat would allow more treatments in managed stands.
