Parent notification of Drills memo

This is to inform you of the upcoming safety drills we will be having at Eastlake high school the following week. This is an important aspect of High School protocols that ensures the safety of students, Faculty, and Staff of Eastlake High School. Please stress the importance of these drills to your student(s) and help them be aware of the implications if not done correctly or taken seriously. Their lives and the lives of their fellow classmates may depend on it.

These drills will be focusing on the procedural and “what to do” aspects during a fire, Lockdown, Secure campus, Clear room, and earthquake or natural disaster. Administration will be directing the drills and teachers will be instructing the students.

Eastlake High School takes having a safe and secure campus seriously. These drills help us ensure our students continue to live, breathe, and function in an environment conducive to a positive learning environment. We thank you for being a big part of that.

Community service opportunities

  • Dreams for Change - a San Diego nonprofit serving homeless and low-income people. One of our focuses is the VITA program which provides free tax assistance to low-income families and individuals by IRS certified tax prepares. Our goal is to help taxpayers claim any credits they may be eligible for. We would not be able achieve these goals without the support of our volunteers. This is an ideal way for students to gain "real-word" experience in addition to giving back to the community and helping those in need. We will start recruiting volunteers in late October and would greatly appreciate if we could come and promote this opportunity for seniors Click HERE for the program description
