Spring Sports Clearance

Spring sports tryout schedule will be ready soon. Check here for a link to the schedule later this week. In the meantime, if you plan to play spring sports please register for that sport at eastlaketitans.com, print out the three page Athlete Profile pages, have a parent signature as well as athlete signature. Go HERE for athletic clearance process and more details on documents needed.

ASB Semester 2 Calendar

ASB Applications

ASB Officer applications are available now during lunch in the ASB. You may pick up an application during LUNCH only from Mr. Lopez or Thomas Theolier, our ASB Attorney General. Applications MUST be submitted by February 2nd. By 2:30pm

Non-privilege List - PLEASE READ!!! Click HERE to see list(1/23/18)

NP lists are updated weekly and posted ASB and Main Office. You will NOT be able to participate in any school-sponsored event(Including Graduation) if your name is on the Non-Privileged list. THIS tutorial shows how to check attendance on Infinite Campus. You MUST be clear your name off the non-privileged list two weeks before the event(Click.HERE). Senior Contract, Attendance, library/ASB fines, fundraising debt, Senior contract missing and athletic uniforms or gear owed are all reasons for being placed on this list.

Senior Contracts

Please submit your senior contract to the MAIN OFFICE. They were due back in October so If you have not turned yours in you have been placed on the Non-Privileged list and you will not be able to participate in ANY senior activities(Prom, Grad Nite and Graduation). The list will be updated weekly to reflect the senior contracts turned in.

Grad Nite 2018

Hello Class of 2018, only ONE more month left to purchase your Grad Nite Tickets! Ticket sales will continue this week on Tuesday and Wednesday during nutrition break by the Senior Lawn and starting in February PTSA will only be available on Tuesday's during nutrition break. Ticket prices are now at $225.00 each and are selling quickly. Each student will need to provide a completed registration form with payment when purchasing at ticket we are accepting cash, check and charge. If you have any questions about Grad Nite please contact PTSA at eastlakehsptsa@gmail.com. Can't wait to see Mickey!!

Senior Ads

“Hello Seniors and Parents of Senior Students, As of the winter break, we still have pages available for the purchase of a Senior Ad. Seniors and/or their parents are welcomed to complete the Senior Ad application and submit their order with the Yearbook class, Attention: Ms. Pérez, in Relo – 6. Senior Ads will be made available on a first come, first served basis until all pages allocated for Senior Ads in the Yearbook are filled. A reminder that 75% of the cost of your selected Ad size is due by January 25th and all full payments for all Ad pages are due by March 2nd. Click HERE to get the flier.

Financial Planning Night

Financial Planning Night for 9th, 10th and 11th Grade Parents – Tuesday, January 30th at 6pm in the Ruth Chapman Theatre: We would like to invite our parents of 9th, 10, and 11th graders to our Financial Aid Planning Night to learn more from the HEFAR Group. They are a non-profit company dedicated to helping families qualify for all of the grants, scholarships, and financial aid they are entitled to. They strive to make a college education more affordable for everyone. The informational night will be on Tuesday January 30th at 6:00pm in the Ruth Chapman Theater. We hope to see you there!

Want to be an Eastlake High School cheerleader?

EHS will be holding sideline cheer tryouts for the 2018-2019 season. Basic skills and material for tryouts will be taught during the cheer tryout clinics. Sideline Cheer Clinics are optional, but highly encouraged. *All participants must be cleared through eastlaketitans.com, any athletic clearance questions please contact Eastlake High ASB 619.397.3850. Junior Optimist International Essay and Oratorical Contest

On the application, the contact person is our student President Molly Rivas and the drop-off for submission/address is Room 808. The competition is tiered at the Eastlake, district, state, national and then international level. Each level has a cash prize. The higher levels have scholarships. The deadline for the essay submission is February 22nd and the oratorical application is due March 1st and the competition is March 6th in the theatre during lunch.

PTSA Meeting 2/06

PTSA is happy to present Kara Kohnen, LMFT Clinical Director at Grow Through Life Counseling who will discuss: normal stages of grief, warning signs of teen depression and the action steps to take if you are concerned. Education, understanding and awareness are the keys to suicide prevention. This information session will be followed by a question and answer session so please bring your questions. February 6th at 6pm in the Chapman theater, students and parents are welcomed. Serving our teens together, PTSA

For the schedule click HERE. If you have read this entire WAAG, please remember this phrase…..”Pineapple belongs on pizza”. The first ten students that can find Mr. Lopez in the quad during NUTRITION BREAK or LUNCH and repeat the phrase AND answer a question about the WAAG, will receive a prize.

Gymnastics Practice and Competition Schedule

All HS Gymnastics teams (all schools) practice in pre-season from September 2017 through mid-February 2018 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5- 9 PM and on Saturdays from 12 – 4 PM at 465 L Street, Chula Vista, Ca. No experience is necessary. Try outs for HS gymnastics (for all SUHSD High Schools) will be on February 17, 2018 from 12 – 4 PM at 465 L Street, Chula Vista, Ca. No experience is necessary. During the season practices will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 - 8:30 PM and on Saturdays from 12:30 – 3:30 PM at 465 L Street, Chula Vista, Ca. If you need to reset passwords for any of the following please take these steps. Infinite Campus - Should always be their 8-digit birthday. If you need to have it reset, let your teachers know and the teachers will contact EHS’s IT Guy to have the password reset. Google - Students can use the following LINK to reset their Google passwords. If this does not work they let their teachers know and the teachers will contact EHS’s IT Guy to have the password reset. Jupiter - Students can email Nathan Horner or they can have their teacher email Mr. Horner to have the password reset.

Dress Code Reminder

Youth Action Council

Youth Action Council is composed of 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who attend Chula Vista schools. Members are primarily engaged in a variety of community service projects that initiate outreach to their neighbors and peers. Additionally, students can earn community services hours for those who are looking to fulfill this graduation requirement. For more information click HERE

2018 Ninth Circuit Civics Contest

We are pleased to announce that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California is participating in the 2018 Ninth Circuit Civics Contest, an essay and video competition for high school students. The Southern District will conduct its own contest. Local winners (Southern District Court level) will receive special recognition by the Court and cash prizes. $1,000 for each first place winner (essay and video), $500 for second place winners, and $250 for third place winners. Those winning at the District Court level will move on to compete at the Ninth Circuit level competition. First place for essay and video each receive a $2,000 cash prize, second place $1,000, and third place $500. The theme of this year’s contest is “150 Years after Ratification of the 14th Amendment: What Does Equal Protection Mean to Students.” This topic echoes many of the current political debates today. Entries must be submitted between February 1, 2018 and April 1, 2018. Entries will no longer be accepted after April 1, 2018. I would be happy to help you incorporate this contest into your curriculum by arranging for a local attorney to come and speak to your students about this topic. Attached are a couple of flyers for the contest, and you can find more information on the website at:http://www.ca9.uscourts.gov/civicscontest. The website contains a link to past essay and video winners. I am also happy to answer any questions you may have about the competition.

Lost and Found

Titans, if you have lost any clothes or other personal belongings, be sure to report them to the Lost and Found located in the ASB to check for your lost items. If you find items, please bring them to the ASB to our lost & found. Thank you!
