Drop off construction

Dear Community Members,

On behalf of Eastlake High School and the City of Chula Vista, I am pleased to announce that construction on a drop-off zone near the front of the school is scheduled to start on November 12th and conclude in early 2019. We shall post updates throughout the process. The drop-off zone will span from the beginning of the student parking area near the park to the front of the school entrance. We will be able to accommodate about 20-25 cars in the drop-off zone at any time and they will merge with traffic upon dropping their student off. Renderings of the drop-off zone can be found below.

We applaud the collaboration between the City of Chula Vista and the Eastlake community for addressing this need. We thank our community for their patience and advocacy during this time. Safety and communication will be the key to a successful partnership with our community as we try to ease traffic congestion in front of Eastlake High School. Please plan accordingly for increased traffic from 7:00 to 7:45 and from 2:50 to 3:15 during the school day. There will be safety fences and boundary notices posted for pedestrian safety. We also lose about 30 additional student parking spots temporarily for construction resources, so we advise that students also plan accordingly. Please communicate with Armand Murillo at Armando.Murillo@sweetwaterschools.org or (619) 585-4441 in regards to any questions you might have about this project. We appreciate your flexibility during these next few months.

STUDENT ATHLETE/PARENT HANDBOOK

IMPORTANT- For all students and parents/guardians that have a student athlete participating in Eastlake athletics, please Read This Handbook In Its Entirety

An important value we expect from all our athletes is integrity. Because of this, we ask that you do not sign on the dotted line until you have read the handbook and agreed to abide by its rules and guidelines.

Grad nite

Hello Class of 2020,

The PTSA has finalized one of the biggest events for you, Grad Night 2020. We were fortunate that Disneyland and California Adventure chose to work with Eastlake one more year. This year's Grad Night will be held at our friend Mickey Mouse's house. The big event will be held at Disney's California Adventure from 9pm to 2am on May 30, 2020. The ticket this year will be $250.00 a ticket, it will allow you to park hop from Disneyland to California Adventure up until 9pm, and will include transportation from school to Disney and back. This is the only choice of transportation for the students attending Grad Night. Please know the tickets will increase after the January 31st to $275.00. We will be handing out registration forms on Monday November 4th during nutrition break; a registration form must be submitted with payment. Can't wait to see Mickey!

National parent INVOLVEMENT day

Dear Titan Parents,

Due to the low participation our drive will be extended until we get back from the break . One of the ways we are celebrating our parent and school staff collaboration is through supplying our teachers with some of the supplies they need to run a successful classroom. Feel free to stop by the front office (before the break) to drop off your donations or at Office Depot online or at the Eastlake store. They will deliver to our school. THANK YOU

I am reaching out to you specifically to see if you would be willing to share with the students of Sweetwater Union High School District that we are looking for volunteers for the Holiday Bowl Parade on Thursday, December 26 at 3:00pm. We are looking for people to hold our balloons during the parade (must be at least 15 years old) and also our banners (must be at least 5 years old), and are more than happy to provide the students with community service hours as a “thank you” for them helping us. Attached, you should find a flyer with information regarding the day of the parade and information surrounding that, but if you, or any students, have any questions, you can reach out to me directly at events@holidaybowl.com or (619) 283-5808 x312 - Maile Osumi
