Students are expected to be in class either before or after an AP exam unless a parent excuses a student with prior permission using a special Off-Campus pass for AP testing. For example, if a student has a morning AP exam, they will have lunch after their AP test, then attend the last class(es) of the day.
Can I leave school after my AP test if I test at 8 am? Yes, if you have an Off-Campus Pass AND after all students have finished and all materials have been collected.
Any student who is requesting to leave AFTER a morning exam or arrive late to school for an afternoon exam MUST have an Off Campus Permission Form as a ticket to leave early or arrive late. See the form for more details. Your teacher will have forms in the Spring.
Can I arrive at school late if my AP test is in the afternoon?
Yes, with an off-campus pass and no-later than 11:15.
Can I leave the AP test early before the other students are finished and materials have been collected?
No. If students have a 12 pm test, they MUST stay until ALL students at their testing location have completed the test AND all testing materials have been collected before anyone is dismissed, even if this means they stay beyond the expected 3:40 dismissal time. You may be dismissed after the school day around 4:30 pm! Parents CANNOT pick students up early from an exam. If they leave before the exam is over, their test is invalidated. (NOTE: The test is not “over” until ALL student materials are collected). These are College Board rules for important reasons. Please be respectful.
You may not be able to take the test this year.
There is a chance you may be able to take a late test but a $40 fee per exam will be added for any late testing requests that are approved by AP Hadi unless very specific circumstances exist. We typically will not accommodate late testing as it requires securing a location and hiring a proctor unless there is a very special circumstance. One example may be that you are scheduled to take two AP tests, but they take place at the exact same time. Another example would be a death in the family. Routine dental and medical appointments should be rescheduled. It is a significant investment in time and resources to administer AP exams, please be respectful of that effort and do not miss your exam.
