Welcome to Otay Ranch High School’s Virtual Open House. My name is Laura Douglas and I am your child’s Math teacher this year. I have been teaching math for 24 years since I received my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from UC Berkeley and my bilingual teaching credential (Spanish) from San Diego State University.

Jupiter grades: jupitergrades.com *to check grades and send messages. I use Jupiter grades to communicate with students and parents. I rarely use Google Classroom to send messages.

CPM Homework Help: homework.cpm.org *for help with homework using CPM textbook/ebook,

On Jupiter grades you will be able to see if they are missing any assignments and what grade they received on any tests, quizzes, or homework assignment. You will also see the date it was assigned and the date it was due. You can also send me an email from the website if you have a question or concern about your student’s grade. I send many reminders and daily agendas through Jupiter so please check it regularly.

TUTORING:

*Lunch tutoring with me in room 608 when requested.

*If funding is approved by the district, there will also be afterschool tutoring in the library, I will keep you posted.

If your child is ever falling behind and needs extra help, please encourage them to go to tutoring. The most important thing is for your child to stay positive and ask for help when needed.

I look forward to helping your child become successful in Math this year. You can also help by making sure they have the daily materials needed and a quiet place to do their homework. Thank you for playing an important role in your child’s education.
