Learn more about teen development

Junior High is an exciting and sometimes challenging time for students and their families. During this growth into adolescence, students can begin to change. They may try new activities, need to understand why a lot more often, be sensitive to comments from others, and explore who they are individually and in a group setting. They might change their friend groups, be really energetic, and at times be fatigued. They will grow really quickly. Their friends become really important people to them. At times, your students friends may seemingly have more influence and seem more important than their parents/guardians. This is an interesting age where students figure out who they are and who they want to be. Here at Sweet Home Junior High, we're here to help in navigating all the changes.
