Physics
Term: Year
Prerequisites: Concurrent enrollment in or successful completion of Algebra II.
Credit: 1
Grade: 11, 12
Fee: See fee schedule; a scientific calculator is required for this course. A TI-83/84 family graphing calculator is an option but not required.
Physics covers the major physical concepts of motion, forces, and energy while emphasizing mathematical problem
solving skills. Physics integrates lecture, lab, and problem solving exercises. Because of the emphasis on logical
problem solving, Physics is a recommended course for students planning a career in any technical field. Students are
required to take one additional lab-based science course for a total of 3 credits. Students planning to pursue a four-year
college program following high school are strongly encouraged to include Chemistry and Physics during their high school
coursework.
