This course includes the biology and ecology components required to prepare students for the Ohio end-of-course

assessment. The course, structured around the idea that students learn by doing science and following the scientific

method. Fundamental concepts in cytology, DNA, genetics, biochemistry, classification, cell processes, biotechnology,

and scientific issues introduced. Students will also learn fundamental concepts in ecosystems, energy transfer, natural

resources, climatology, origins, and diversity of life, adaptation, predation, and competition.
