Accelerated Chemistry is the scientific field that concentrates on the description and explanation of matter, its structure,

its composition, and its behavior. In this course, students will learn about the atom, the periodic table, chemical bonding,

physical behavior of matter, nuclear chemistry and the mathematical applications that apply to each. Students are

required to have a strong understanding of algebraic concepts. This course meets the requirement for a third laboratory

based course for Ohio High School Graduation Requirements. Students planning to attend a four-year college program

following high school are strongly encouraged to take Chemistry and Physics.
