In an effort to start the school year off on the right foot, the math teachers at SMS strongly suggest that you practice your math skills over the summer. Whether you decide to try all or some of the assignments posted in our Summer Work Google Classroom or simply practice daily math tasks: When going out to dinner, estimate the total, calculate the bill’s tax, or determine the tip. In the kitchen, measure the ingredients or try doubling a recipe. Prior to going on a road trip, find the distance and time it may take you to arrive at your destination. Math is everywhere! While we encourage you to enjoy your summer, the transition into the new school year will be easier with these core skills!
“Successful and unsuccessful people do not vary greatly in their abilities. They vary in their desires to reach their potential.”
– John Maxwell
