Q1. What should I do if something isn't working correctly
A. Check the videos first at www.ihtspirit.com . If you can't find what you need or don't understand what to do please contact Deb or Mike.
Q2. It seems to take too much class time to do a pick up on the HRM's, what can I do to improve that time?
A. There are several things you can do to make it quicker and it will also depend on the age of your students as what methods will work the best.
*. Make sure you are not expecting perfection after a few tries. It will take a while for the students to get the hang of it but then it should go smoothly. Give yourself and your students plenty opportunities to make mistakes and get better.
* . Place your HRM's and the computer at different places in your gym, so as to avoid a bottleneck as students are trying to pick up and return.
* . Don't have all students do their pick up and return at the same time. If you are secondary have them pick up as they enter the gym following dressing.
* . If you use squads, teams, groups, etc. have one person pick up for the entire group.
Q3. Should I use the HRM's everyday
A. Absolutely!!!! By using the HRM's everyday, you are teaching your students to monitor their own heart rate and as an educator you will improve your delivery thus increasing the amount of time students have for reaching their MVPA time.
