Tell your teacher that you need a quiet minute.
Take a walk to be alone with your thoughts.
Welcome the memories. Allow them to come and go.

Ask questions. Adults that you trust will answer.
Allow yourself to be sad (even in front of others who are sad). Your emotions won't make the other person sadder. It's a comfort to know you're sad together.
Remember, it's okay to be happy and play too. (guilt free)

It's a gift to have memories of your loved one. Consider these ideas to celebrate their life.
Create a memory book with pictures, and stories.
Journal your thoughts and memories as you have them.
Create a memory box. Choose things that remind you of your loved on and then choose a special place to keep it.
Create an "imagine if" book and draw pictures and write stories of what you might do together in the future if your loved one were alive.
Share memories aloud with others who share your loss.
