Perhaps your child talks about changing the world. Perhaps your child talks about having the courage to do what is right. Perhaps your child sees injustice and wants to be a vessel for change.
4th grade students at Erie Elementary School are working on passion projects that focus on making the world a safer, kinder, cleaner, more equitable place. One of these incredible students asked me how to get their message out to the world. How do we make an impact?
Great question! Although I don’t have all the answers. Take a look at the ideas below. You never know, your child may be the next Nelson Mandela, Patrisse culors, Greta Thunberg, Jamie Henn. Explore these resources WITH your child to spark dynamic conversation.
Make creative signs and march in a peaceful protest.

Write letters to your congress people. ADL.org.
Raise money for a cause. (lemonade stand, car wash, mow lawns, etc)
Kids can write letters to companies they are upset with or that they support.
Contact your local newspaper and share your concerns and inspirational ideas with them. Colorado Hometown Weekly.
Engage in community service. (What’s your cause? animals? people in need? the environment?)

Explore dosomething.org. Select a campaign and get started. Many projects here focused on teens. Some projects are great for our crafty kids.
