In grade 3 Math we will focus on a variety of topics and skill sets. Grade 3 is a big year for students as they are learning many new concepts as well as they are introduced to many new complex strategies. We will cover the same basic concepts, but in a more complex way adding digits and adding new problem solving techniques. We will scaffold our skills and use them as building blocks when learning new ideas

Though the Grade 2 students are learning the same basic skills they will apply these same skills into different ways. There will be some recycling, reusing and re-purposing of concepts studied last year. We will work together and help each other understand and apply new and old skill sets. We will work hard at making connections between and with the different units in order to become more confident with our mathematical skills.
