Ms. Acton

Ms. Acton is a 3^rd grade teacher at Yavapai Elementary, where she has taught since 2009. She attended High School in the Los Angeles area. After receiving her BA degree in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach in 2007, Ms. Acton moved to Arizona to pursue her career in education. She obtained her Elementary Education teaching credential with an SEI endorsement through the Post-Baccalaureate STEP Program at Scottsdale Community College. She also has a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum & Instruction. Ms. Acton has served on a variety of committees during her time at Yavapai including Site Council, MTSSB, and IPT. She is a teacher instructional leader and has been a teacher candidate mentor since 2013 for universities including ASU & NAU. Ms. Acton was honored to receive the Charro's Teacher of the Year award in April 2017.
