Mrs. Fortney

Mrs. Fortney has been a teacher at Copper Ridge School for the past 13 years. She got her bachelor's degree in Art Education from Arizona State University in 2010, where she earned ASU Student Teacher of the Year. She then received her Masters's degree in Special Education from Northern Arizona University in 2015. In 2019 she completed her coursework at Brandman University and got her Principal Certificate from the state of Arizona. Mrs. Fortney has also received the AMLA Teacher of the Year Award in 2012 & the Scottsdale Charros Teacher of the Year Award in 2020. She teaches Middle School Art, Yearbook & Student Government and assists with all events, including dances, fundraisers & benefits. Mrs. Fortney's passion for her students and a high-quality curriculum can be seen daily in her classroom and on her student's faces.
