Band/ General Music/ Choir

Dr. Wevursky has taught band and general music in SUSD for 21 years, and she has been at Cheyenne since 2004. She received her Doctorate of Musical Arts, summa cum laude, from the Thornton School of Music at USC and her teacher certification from Arizona State University. She is currently principal clarinet with the Tempe Symphony Orchestra and the Tempe Winds, and she has performed with the Symphony of the West Valley, as well as Mesa Symphony. Dr. Wevursky has also performed at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada, the Grand Teton Music Festival, Bowdoin College Chamber Music Festival, and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria in 2000 and 2001. In 2006 she was a finalist in the International Clarinet Association’s Orchestral Excerpt Competition for Clarinet and performed in Atlanta, Georgia at the ICA convention. In 2017 she was a Scottsdale Charros Teacher of the Year at Cheyenne. She is originally from Los Angeles, and she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her animals.
